"I have come to know [Ms. William's] patience, her ability to understand and her passion for piano and music.

I will be the first to admit that I definitely struggle to find time to practice but Ms. William’s never ending support and encouragement continues to help me challenge myself to gradually improve.

Piano will definitely continue to be a part of my life and I will carry the skills I have learned on with me for years to come.

I contribute this all to Ms. Williams and her evident passion for passing on her love of piano to her students."

Testimonials

Mrs. Williams is a very loving and thoughtful piano teacher, with care and compassion for her students.

Mrs. Williams taught me that through practice I can get better and better between every piano lesson. I have now used that discipline of practice decades later and have learned I can always grow and be better.

It is difficult to quantify just how much Mrs. Williams has done for me (I hope I can do it justice.)

Mrs. Williams knows how to unlock your potential.  She knows what you are capable of and when to push you to achieve it.

She is not just teaching you to help you to pass your next exam - she teaches to give you life long skills.

She vastly improved my sight-reading. This is a skill that has allowed me to play many other instruments, to play piano in volunteering roles, and allows me to continue to play music in my home to this day.

Having the privilege of receiving lessons from Mrs. Williams gave me so much more than just learning the piano. Her home was a welcoming, caring haven where I felt valued and seen just as I was. No matter what I was facing as a kid, pre-teen, or teenager, Mrs. Williams warmth, support, and belief in me was a constant in my life.

Piano gave me an emotional outlet both within the music Mrs. Williams taught me and in the music I was then able to create on my own.

Learning to play the piano and performing at recitals allowed me to practice being in front of an audience. This has been incredibly helpful in many areas of my life and has contributed to skills in leadership and presenting.

Knowing how to play the piano has also allowed me to, at different points in my life, be apart of a band, to volunteer, and to learn and appreciate many, many types of music.

I now bring my own children to Mrs. Williams for lessons. I am grateful that they too will get to experience her genuine, kind, and calming presence in their lives and to have the gift of playing the piano. - T.A., student and parent

"I started Piano when I was in grade five. From the very start I found myself in very comfortable environment that not only encouraged musical enjoyment, but also an exploration of a creative passion.

In my classes with Mrs. Williams I discovered the beautiful artwork of music, and it has stuck with me for all of these years.

Under this warm and welcoming piano experience, I have found that I have always been very eager to play the piano, not only each week in lessons, but also at home.

Mrs. Williams has always encouraged music from the heart, and that has made all of the difference when learning, when playing. It has always been about putting ourselves into the music, putting our own heart into the music that we want to hear and play.

But beyond that, there is a technique of friendliness that prepares us for recitals, and exams.

These lessons are new and exciting each week, and they bring out the best musicians that each of us can be; whether it is classical, country or Broadway, there is music for each of us here."

"I was a piano student of Mrs. Williams for eight years, progressing from Grade 3 to successfully completing my RCM Grade 10 examination with 1st Class Honours.

Mrs. Williams is patient and encouraging, teaching not only the practical aspects of piano playing, but also the joy of making music.

She is a punctual, thorough, and organized teacher who communicates clearly, is easy to talk to and open to the student's questions and music preferences.

Her endless creative suggestions for practicing helped me to understand and enjoy exploring the character and style of each piece.

I always felt well-prepared for the RCM exams, including the technical requirements and ear training portions, which we would practice and test frequently before the exam.

Her private studio recitals introduced all her students to performance practice and gave us an avenue to share our music.

Studying with Mrs. Williams has increased my passion for music, which I continue to share with the community today as a professional musician."

"Suzanne has created a love of music and a joy of playing the piano in both of our children.

Suzanne has a very kind and patient way of teaching that encourages each students' unique talent and interest.

She has created in our home a lifelong appreciation of music and the piano is a place to relax and express yourself at.

We would highly recommend Suzanne as a piano instructor to others."
-Shannon, parent of two students

I wanted to give all my children the opportunity to play the piano, so I put them in Mrs Williams’ piano lessons.

She treated each one of them differently, bringing out their individual strengths while taking careful consideration to get a sense of their desire for music.

All three of them enjoyed their classes and we had many piano recitals performed at home  to delight the family.

To this day, music has influenced their volunteering commitments and even their work.

"My piano teacher, Suzanne Williams, has done so much for me in the aspects of my music life and many other parts of my life.

Piano was not always something I enjoyed very much...She helped me to enjoy piano by helping me learn how to play pieces that I was interested in.

She has taught all of my siblings. Even though we all have very different personalities, she has managed to bring out the best musically in all of us.

No matter what your learning style is she is always able to bring out the best in her students.

She is always willing to give us extra piano lessons especially before exams. Sometimes she even takes time out of her weekends to help students who are not available during the week.

She has made a lasting impression on my life and changed my views on music forever."
